Dublin Lesson Street / Ireland

Paddy Conway's Pub

Paddy Conways is one of the last great secrets in Dublin. Situated at the top of O’Connell Street, on the corner of Moore Lane and Parnell Street, it’s a real gem. Anytime you walk in there, you’re bound to meet ‘real Dubs’, interesting people with many a story to tell. And because Paddy Conways is located opposite the Rotunda maternity hospital, you’ll often find relieved new dads in for a celebratory pint to ‘wet the baby’s head’. Guinness drinkers rate it highly. And their toasted sandwiches aren’t bad too. On some Sundays they even serve free cocktail sausages and potatoe wedges to keep their punters from starving. Historic point: it was on Moore Lane that one of the rebels was shot during the 1916 Rising. Ask one of the regulars, they’re sure to know the story.
